Submitted by Administrator on Thu, 06/23/2011 - 6:38pm.
We are adding the below class to LWE’s Fall 2011 Semester. It will be offered at 11am and those age appropriate students who are without a class at this time or currently on a waiting list will receive first priority in enrolling in this class. After hearing from those without spots or on waiting lists this class will be open to any others interested. If you would like to switch into this class from the current class your student is in please send Liz McCullough an email at mccullough29@comcast.net. ~Thank you!
Exploring His Earth
Ages 9-11

Join us for living geography and science fun! “A Child's Geography: Exploring His Earth” is about getting to know what's under our feet, over our heads and in the world around us-the atmosphere, the hydrosphere, the lithosphere-and then how to get around this world-maps, latitude and longitude. Do you know how many gallons of water float in a cloud over our head-how far it is to the center of the Earth-what causes magnificent auroras, God's love lights-how God used the Flood to puzzle our planet into different shifting plates? Well, hop on board to experience Adventures for the Inquisitive Child-and every excursion glorifies our breathtaking Creator!
We'll be doing plenty of hands on activities but in order to make it stick they will have homework. Homework consists of reading and do about 10 questions each week. They will need to bring this into class to go over before the fun starts. Depending on your views of geography this class may fill your requirement and you may not have to teach it at home! We will have a Bible Memory verse each week. The students will have an opportunity to earn candy if they come prepared to recite the verse that goes along with each lesson.
Fee: $7 (approx. depending on how many students sign up)
Supplies: crayons/colored pencils/markers, scissors, glue sticks in you backpack each week.
