Welcoming the New Year... 2008 was a year of challenges and change in our great country. In many ways, we see the global events - both the threats and the valiant efforts to meet them and prevail - as a microcosm of what each of us faces in our own individual homeschools. Specifically, we are witness to an enormous response to long-standing problems in our country’s economy and social constructs. But most of this response does not get to the heart of the problem. This little dance gets performed daily in our life in so many different ways. Maybe this is true for you, too? Our hope for 2009 is for more prayer with greater humility and more prayer for greater courage – so that real solutions can be found for real problems with the help of our real God through whom all things can happen. Please note that this is the last edition of the Weekly eNews for 2008! The next mailing of the eNews will be on January 10th, 2009. Have a prayer-filled, joyful, spiritually prosperous 2009! Peter and Rosemary Laberee Coming Up This WeekThu Jan 1, 2009 Fri Jan 2, 2009 Tue Jan 6, 2009 Wed Jan 7, 2009 Thu Jan 8, 2009 In This IssueH20 Rock Climbing EventGreetings, Middle Schoolers! What a great time we had at our caroling party! We had more than twenty-five fabulous 6th, 7th, and 8th grade singers (not to mention the boisterous voices of the dads in attendance), and the neighbors on Cochise Circle have made reference to the fact that we've never sounded better! The December weather was gorgeous - no jackets required - and the hungry carolers were even able to take their cookies and cocoa outside to the picnic tables after singing. Thanks to all who came out and ministered to the residents on our street reminding all why we really celebrate Christmas! The attached photo shows just some of our Junior High gang. If you weren't able to make it in on Monday night, you were missed! But our next event is just around the corner. So mark your calendars for Monday night, January 19th - it's time to go ROCK CLIMBING!!! Click open this flyer - and send your reservations in to Mrs. Laberee! Spelling Bee Tip of the Week
The ENOCH - South Jersey
Don't let the hustle and bustle of the Christmas holiday go to waste! Jump into the festivities and decorate your bedroom. You might construct fancy paper-chain streamers to criss-cross the ceiling with lots of large-print spelling words to dangle from them. This is a good way to elicit an unusually high visibility to many harder, less familiar words.
