Spelling Bee Tip of the Week
Submitted by Administrator on Wed, 11/26/2008 - 4:46pm.The ENOCH - South Jersey

Hello, fellow homeschoolers!
So far you have read several myth-buster emails and have become more acquainted with the format of our upcoming spelling bee. Now, for the next several weeks you will be peppered with ideas that will hopefully provide a welcome spice to your spelling bee preparations.
The first idea would be to learn to spell new words from the Scripps' list by playing games with your family. An activity such as Boggle, Scrabble or even a simple game of Hangman will raise your level of interaction with the words you're studying and will impress them more firmly on your mind.
Have fun while prepping for the Spelling Bee!

Spelling Bee Mythbuster #2
Submitted by Administrator on Wed, 11/26/2008 - 4:21pm.The ENOCH - South Jersey

Hello again!
Is your excitement building for the Spelling Bee? I hope so!
Here's another common misconception about the Spelling Bee: you might think it's too hard to compete with kids that are older than you. Well, don't fret. There are winners and prizes for each grade! So have no fear!
We'll see you there!
For more information contact Jack at jack.august@verizon.net.
Spelling Bee Mythbuster #3
Submitted by Administrator on Wed, 11/26/2008 - 4:15pm.The ENOCH - South Jersey

Hi!
For all those attending the spelling bee, don't be fooled into thinking that kids who win spelling bees have to study for three hours a day! All you have to do is review maybe twice a week, and be sure to know tricky words like homonyms. For instance, "stationary" and "stationery". They're pronounced the same way but spelled differently, so be aware of those types of things.
Have a nice week!
For more information contact Jack at jack.august@verizon.net.
Spelling Bee Mythbuster #1
Submitted by Administrator on Wed, 11/26/2008 - 4:07pm.The ENOCH - South Jersey

This is not just another Spelling Bee. You'll be challenged! You'll increase your vocabulary! You'll have fun!
One common misconception about spelling bees that may make you reluctant to participate is that you think you're not allowed to write the word down before you spell it out loud. Of course you can write it down! Each participant will be given scrap paper and a pen. It's so much easier to spell when you can visualize what you're thinking.
There's nothing to be afraid of! We hope to see you there!
If you have any questions, email Jack at jack.august@verizon.net.

Submitted by Administrator on Fri, 11/14/2008 - 10:33pm.Living Water Enrichment (LWE) registration begins Monday, November 17th. Please follow instructions that are found on this website. We’ve been receiving some questions regarding registration and listed them below in case others had the same questions.
Where do I get the forms to register?
Go to www.lwhe.org. When you click on the LWE tab you will find all the forms there.
When can we start re-registration?
We will have a box at LWE on November 17th. Please make sure you bring your completed form & check in an ENVELOPE.
When is it done?
Your part of registration is done when you hand in your completed form & check.
To whom do I give my check?
Your check will stay in an envelope with your enrollment form.
How will you know when a class is full?
We will be numbering the forms as they come in, so we can keep track of the order of those registering. The teachers will be notified if a class is full, it will be marked on the website and we will notify all those after the cut off that they will be on the waiting list for a class.
Do I need to register if my child is in a class that is continuing?
Yes! Everyone taking a class needs to register.
IMPORTANT! Please remember to maintain a copy of your class choices for each of your children, so you remember what classes they are signed up for!
