By Cindy Short and Sue Welch
The Teaching Home

PART 1

Is your school year finished?

If so, these End-of-School-Year Activities will provide a good finish to this year and preparation for the next. Set aside a day or more to do the necessary task of gathering, filing, and recording the year's schoolwork.  The rewards are:

 •  You can find your records easily.
 •  Your children have meaningful memorabilia.
 •  You get more space for more books and materials.
 •  You might even be able to sell books you don't need anymore for cash to (you guessed it) buy more books!

Jersey Shore Pirate Sail

Come sail with Jersey Shore Pirates as we bring the most unique form of family entertainment to the NJ Shore area. Bring your young pirates aboard the Sea Gypsy for a swashbuckling Pirate Adventure on the Metedeconk River. Your mini mates will have the opportunity to dress-up like pirates, get face painted with pirate "tattoos", and learn some pirate lingo before setting sail on an hour and fifteen minute long action packed adventure. Once on board, the mates will participate in an interactive treasure hunt on the high seas. They will learn the rules of the Sea Gypsy pirate ship, read a treasure map, discover a secret message in a bottle, and work as a team to defeat the enemy pirate who has stolen the keys to their treasure. Prepare to man our famous water cannons to win back the keys from our nemesis Pirate Pete! Once we have won back the keys, we're off in search of the sunken treasure. X marks the spot for our crew's hard earned spoils. The mates will use all of their might to hoist the treasure from the seas below onto the Sea Gypsy. Their reward: each child takes with them a handful of loot and a lifetime of authentic pirate tales to tell. The adventure continues when we discover the secret stash of "Pete's Grog" and celebrate by dancing the Pirate Limbo as we safely return to port.

Five minutes from the Point Pleasant attractions!

Finishing Well

By Valerie Watne (adapted from Cornerstone Devotions)

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith" (I Timothy 4:7)

Every year in June, the feelings of inadequacy resurface.  Ending the school year can bring excitement, but also the feelings of inadequacy.  Most of us feel like we have given everything we have to give, yet still feel unsatisfied when the school year ends.  So maybe the real meaning of finishing well is deeper.  Did we ask God to help us do our best everyday? Did we look to Him for strength and wisdom? Did we grow closer to Him this year? Did we actively seek out ways to become less self-centered and more giving to our children?  If so, why doesn't that make us feel successful? Why don't we have that feeling of satisfaction from a job well done?

Here's the upcoming cross country schedule.  The new time is 10:00am to avoid the heat.  Please note that there is no practice on July 3rd.

Leadership Faith Statement

The Holy Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God. It contains His completed and final revelation to man. We do not endorse or encourage the use of any teaching that conflicts with what is contained in it. The Holy Bible in its original form is without error in its entirety. The Word of God has been and will remain the ultimate authority as we seek His wisdom in representing His group in a way that honors and magnifies the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Mission Statement

Living Water Home Educators is composed of homeschool families in Burlington County, NJ and surrounding areas who come together to support one another. Each family that homeschools is an independent, private school that has the freedom to install the beliefs and values that we, the parents, feel are most important to our children. Since this group is not affiliated with any one particular church, we feel it is important for you to know where the leadership of this group stands so that you can feel comfortable participating in the activities and events we offer.

Activities Disclaimer

Members should not make any assumptions about the teachings or content that may be provided at these activities and should exercise due diligence before deciding to participate.
